Setting Up

In this section, we guide you through a straightforward three-step process to seamlessly integrate QPoint's powerful tools into your Kubernetes environment. A summary of each step of the installation process follows below.

  1. Start the Installation Wizard: We begin by kicking off the installation wizard. This step is initiated automatically when you first log in.

  2. Installing the Operator: Using Helm, Kubernetes' package manager, the QPoint Operator is installed with a command that incorporates your namespace and API token. This process is streamlined to minimize complexity.

  3. Enabling Workloads: The final step focuses on activating QPoint's management of your workloads' egress traffic. By labeling namespaces and pods, you signal the QPoint Operator to manage traffic within these environments. The labeling process allows for the QPoint system to inject a Qtap proxy into your pods, offering advantages like isolated functionalities, independent scalability, and ease of updates. We provide clear instructions for labeling, whether it’s for sidecar injection, service designation, or for disabling QPoint on certain workloads.
