More advanced capabilities for the Qpoint Proxy are unlocked when the Proxy is able to terminate SSL, inject middleware, and perform deep packet inspection.
To facilitate SSL termination and middleware injection, the Qpoint Proxy requires the installation of a trusted Certificate Authority (CA) within your client. This process involves configuring your application to recognize and trust a custom Qpoint CA. The default CA is supplied by Qpoint, but customers may supply their own.
This section will guide you through the steps necessary to install the Qpoint Proxy's CA into your application, ensuring trusted SSL termination and the effective injection of middleware for additional visibility and control.
While installing the CA is crucial for enabling SSL termination and middleware injection, it's important to note that this step is optional. Qpoint Proxy can discover endpoints, collect basic statistics, and perform access control without SSL termination.
